I’ve always enjoyed about returning home from college because of the diverse stories my friends and I exchanged during those long nights of adventures and keeping each other company. Some stayed at community college; others went to big-name schools; and there were even a few at Rowan University with me. However, one thing that confounded them was longboarding.

“What’s a longboard?” they’d always ask. I tried giving them a feeble definition, but they never really understood until they saw one in-person.

But it does have me wondering…what exactly is a longboard?

Dictionary.com defines a longboard as “any extra-long surfboard or skateboard”, but the 29″ Flexdex falls right into the average skateboard length of 28″-32″.

Some people believe that longboards and skateboards are two different things, but in fact, a longboard is a skateboard. Different types of skateboards are defined by their functions: The standard skateboard is used for street tricks while longboards are used for cruising, downhill travel, sliding, carving, and much more.
